FROM SERVER’S TO ENTREPRENEURS 

Jake Townson age 21 (right) and Nick Woodhead age 24 (left) who are brother in laws, best friends and also now business partners are launching Protegy “first ever carbonated protein energy drink” across the New York Metropolitan area. “It is undoubtedly the greatest tasting protein drink ever and will be one of the healthiest drinks on the market with 25g whey protein isolate, 0g sugar, a full range of vitamins and pomegranate/acai extracts”. Jake was born and raised in Huntington, New York and Nick was born in Wakefield, England and moved to New York to play lacrosse in 2007. At this time Jake was a waiter and Nick was a bar tender at the same restaurant. During the day they would put there minds together and try to think of the best ideas they possibly could for starting a company. One day while working out in the gym Jake had a revolutionary idea for a carbonated protein energy drink. This idea of protein energy drink compelled them to only work weekend nights just to make enough money to get through the week so they could dedicate the rest of their time to starting there new line of health beverages. In late 2008 they began investing every spare minute and ounce of energy they had into research and developing the formula. Nick had a degree in chemistry and so we began by mixing ingredients in our own kitchen before we approached a professional beverage development company to assist with the formulation. By march 2009 we had a finished product and incorporated as “Distinct Beverages”. By August 2009 things were going better than ever and everything was ready to hit the shelves on September 1st. In New York alone we have several distributors trying to get the drink out there to our consumers.
